Chinese wedding hijinks – in pictures, part 3

26 01 2010

More pictures of Chinese banquet food. For the record, Chinese food is great, but there seems to be an emphasis on the unusual or hard to find, as opposed to taste, when it comes to picking what is served at weddings or large meals.

1. Spicy eel. I like eel, but this was not particularly good. 2. Yep, that’s a turtle alright. I find bullfrog to be far superior. 3. Peanuts, or as I like to call them, the Karl Malone of Chinese banquet food. If you don’t get that, you probably won’t.
4. Some vegetable dishes are horribly bland. Generally, though, the broccoli is a safe bet.
